{The BIG Apple}

Doug and I just got back from 4 great days in New York City....there are some perks to a hubby that travels. We had so much fun. We saw all the sights as our many pictures will show. For some stupid reason I don't have a picture of time square but time square all lit up at night is awesome. We explored, ate some amazing food none of which was chicken nuggets and just enjoyed each other's company. Thank you so much Nana, Papa and Aunt Noel for watching our boys we sure missed them but it was nice to spend some quality alone time with my sweetie!!

{Wall Street}
The bull's butt was the only angle we could get without 20 other people in the picture, ain't it purdy!!

{The Statue of Liberty}
Oh come on....can't you see it....WAY OUT THERE?
The wait to go out to liberty island was about 2 hours, you can't actually go up in the statue just walk around the island so we skipped the ferry ride and admired the ole' girl from afar.

{The Empire State Building}

The amazing view from the top...

Doug buying a water from "Rupert" at the Hello Deli...we are such tourist!

The free Tibet march we got caught in.

{BROADWAY}
We went to see Hairspray and it was AWESOME!!!! Oh my gosh it was beyond words. It starred George Wendt as Edna Turnblad. Who doesn't love Norm. And go way back and do you remember Tevin Campbell, oh ya...he play Seaweed. The next time we are in NYC we are for sure seeing a different show every night. It was worth the every penny!!

{our night at the theater}

{Ground Zero}
There is a lot of construction going on, but you still feel a need to be reverent in some way. We happened to stop by a firehouse on 54th street & 8th Avenue. They have a memorial on their station doors as well as pictures hung inside of those from that station that died that day. We spoke with one of the fireman who was outside and he told us they lost everyone who was on duty that day. I was nearly in tears as I looked at the pictures of those men and the small pictures of those they left behind. Their bravery and sacrifice was a true testament to the American spirit. I hope I can raise by boys to be such great men.

While I wouldn't trade my quiet little neighborhood, New York City has such an amazing energy and so much to see. I can't wait to go back!!! Thanks love for a great trip.
