{OUCH!!}

It took us 4 and 1/2 years but last night (or this morning if you want to get technical) we got our first set of stitches. Last night just before bedtime Jackson ran, lip first, into a ill placed sofa table....which has since been permently moved. There was a lot of blood and a yucky looking wound so with the help of our wonderful neighbor Suzie and then Grandma and Grandpa who came to stay with the twins we were off to get patched up.

Our first stop was instacare...what a waste of time....they looked at his lip, shook their heads and told us we better head up to Primary Children's. So back in the car and off we went. I have to say Jackson was so brave and after the initial run in with the table  was such a trooper. He didn't cry or complain one bit during what turned into one VERY LONG night.

We got to the ER at about 9:00 p.m. and left this morning sometime after 3:00 a.m. We were one of the first in and nearly the last out....apparently it was a very busy night in the ER. After many doctors and nurses poking and prodding they decided a few stitches were needed. Jackson was so tough and never cried or complained while they cleaned his wound, put in an iv, and then stitched him up.

It is amazing how fast kids bounce back. This morning Jackson has a sore and very swollen lip but is doing great and is back in action. Of course ice cream for breakfast, lunch and dinner makes any day a good one.

We are so thankful that Jackson wasn't seriously hurt and should have his stitches out in time to start swimming lessons next week.

Ohhhh! Poor Jackson!! That looks so sore! I hope it didn't happen on your new end table. Sorry. Hopefully it can heal pretty quick. What a brave little boy! Cleaning those wounds can sure hurt!

Yikes! It did look a lot better on Tuesday. What an ordeal at the ER, though. Sheesh. That's frustrating. But it looks like a tip-top job and I'm sure it will heal up nicely. On the other hand, chicks dig scars, Jackson. Chicks dig scars :) Just kidding.

Poor little boy! It sounds like he was a trooper though. What a big boy! I am so glad that everything is okay. Sorry about the long night. I just started my first night on call and I was in the hospital until 3....lucky me. I know what stitches they used!! It's called prolene. It's polypropelene.
