{the rock garden}

Today me, my boys and Grandma visited the ROCK GARDEN, well it least that is what I always called it, it's actual name is GILGAL GARDEN. My grandpa and his family use to own the property so it was the place I spent a lot of time while I was growing up. I haven't been in the garden for quite a few years and decided I wanted to take my boys and show them a place where their Grandma and Mom both played as kids. Some of my best memories are when we would get together at my Grandparents house and all of the cousins would go out back to play....my Grandpa always told us not to climb on the rocks but admittedly we didn't listen all that well. And is was by far the BEST place for a game of kick-the-can.  Every 4th and 24th of July the whole family would gather in the rock garden, the kids would play we'd all eat and then light fireworks. The garden is really beautiful and is now a city park, it was a fun walk down memory lane.

My mom and I then took the boys over to the Hostess store around the corner for some after lunch dessert. We use to live on that block when I was younger and we'd often walk over for bread, cupcakes, ding-dong's and ho-ho's and don't forget the occasional twinkie, suzy-Q and zinger.

We had a good time climbing on the rocks (don't tell my Grandpa), hunting for rocks and remembering all the good times spent in the ROCK GARDEN!!

I love that Gilgal place. It fascinates me and gives me the creeps at the same time. Love things like that! Yes, we should make our families get together! I wish we could even get Grandma Taylor and Jorgene to come! Let's plan for mid-August(before school and after vacations) unless that doesn't work for you. I'll tell my fam...

I think that is so cool that your grandparents used to own that. I'll bet it was a fun place to play growing up. Your boys are so cute. I just have to say that every time. And I can't believe how big Noah and Baden are getting. It's no good I tell you!
