Learning to eat with a spoon...well sort of!

Mashed Potato Madness

I have been putting it off as long as possible, the twins already make huge mealtime messes without the aid of bowls or spoons but I figure they can't eat like cavemen forever so tonight we busted out the spoons and bowls filled with mashed potatoes. They loved using a spoon and made some good attempts before digging in with their hands. I was on dinner duty alone tonight and that means that the twins get a little less supervision as the meal progresses. By the end of dinner they had full tummies and had created a mashed potato masterpiece all over themselves, the wall and their high chairs. (I am guessing they didn't eat their second helping of potatoes). They topped off their work of art with a confetti of corn artfully scattered over the floor. I am thinking the plastic tarp I purchased for under their high chairs was money well spent.

Pretty good! At least they want to wield the utensil. Annabel just looks at it and throws it away, looking at me like, "Seriously, you thought I was going to use that?" Come to think of it, Bruce does that too!

You seriously have the cutest twins ever! I am glad they are starting to learn how to use utensils! Now the only accomplishment left is to teach Carson how to use a bottle :) That would make me happy! Although everything is good with nursing, I need to teach him somehow or he'll be nursing when he's Jackson's age...NOT! I have been nervous to try a bottle again because of the projecting!
